The dragon is a classic symbol of power and strength. Clinched between its teeth is a black pearl. Face and overcome my fear, slay the dragon and regain this treasure of personal wisdom and power that is guarded deep in the cave of my subconscious. I think this archetypical symbol of fear is still as relevant as when the romantic medieval troubadours were storytelling.
A copper frame starts the shape.
Raw silk is printed with hand drawn sketches and formed over sculpted clay.
The finishing touches are added in the form of painted details & embellishments.
It is a layered refined & intricate process developed by Martin and is unique to these sculptures.
